After a long day touring Airbus and the nearby farmland, the E3ers got to sleep in. Around 10:00, we boarded the subway to head to HAW Hamburg University where we spent most of the day. Hamburg has kept us very busy for the past few days, so it was necessary to get some work done today. Throughout the day, three of the IE 4785 students presented their power points that they worked on before the trip began.
Before lunch, Mrs. Paige gave us an interesting assignment. We were told to go speak to a HAW Hamburg University student about their experience at the school. Thankfully, most people at the university speak English. All of our students came back to the classroom with interesting stories to tell about their interactions. One group of people that we talked to found out we were from the New Orleans and were eager to talk about Mardi Gras. It was not difficult to find students on campus, because the spring semester here starts in March and ends in July.
In the last hour of class, the Honors 2020 Students got to facetime Professor Boz about the open-form essays that are due soon. It was around 3:30 in Hamburg, but Boz was drinking his morning coffee in the Patrick F. Taylor Building. The meeting was cut short because the guest speaker for the evening showed up. Dr. Kampschulte talked about Renewable Energy in Germany. Wind turbines are all over Germany, so everyone was interested to learn more about this form of power. After the presentation, we wrapped up our time at HAW Hamburg University. We’ll be off to Berlin tomorrow!
