This morning we had an early start to our day in order to have a class time. It was our final morning in Berlin, and we had a long travel day ahead of us. We had to take three different trains to our final destination, Brannenburg. We left our hostel in Berlin around 10:15am to catch our first ICE train to Nuremburg. When we arrived to the main train station, Hauptbahnof, we immediately drug our luggage through the station and grabbed lunch at a bakery. When 11:30am rolled around it was time to get on the train, and with 18 people plus everyone’s luggage, it was a very chaotic task. Once the whole group made it on the train, we had to find our reserved seats. Some people did not have seats, and we could not figure out why this was happening. Mrs. Paige and Myers repeatedly checked the tickets to make sure everyone was in their correct seats. Finally, we realized that a group of local high school seniors were sitting in our seats. Myers confronted the lady in charge of the group and spoke to her in German. They had a short, heated discussion, but it was eventually resolved and we got our seats. We were once again grateful to have had Myers to resolve unforeseen issues with a language barrier. Once everyone was situated, we all took advantage of the time to catch up on sleep and school work. We even got to do a little sightseeing out of the windows. Ten hours later, we arrived in Brannenburg. Even though the journey was long, it was worth arriving in a beautiful, quaint town situated on the Alps.
