Ashleigh, Bethany, Connor, Kelley, and I had a long day ahead of us. The day started with our first train leaving the station at 12:01 in the morning, but we didn’t mind because we were headed to Amsterdam! Two trains and a night of sprawling throughout our train car later, we arrived at 9:00 AM. Our first mission was to find some food, and we were not disappointed. Between omelet and pancake combinations galore, we did not go hungry. We walked through the city on our way to our hostel and crashed as soon as we reached the room.
We barely woke up in time for our cheese tasting, and ran “Paige Pace 2.5” across the canal. Arriving just in time, we were greeted by some cheese-loving folk. To say that the cheese was delicious would be an understatement that would just not do it justice. Each cheese we tried had a unique flavor that was enhanced by the mustard and balsamic sauces we were given. Needless to say, we spent a lot of money at the gift shop afterwards.
We grabbed a quick dinner before heading down to the canal for our boat tour. The city was beautiful, but it is even more beautiful at sunset. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the breeze and sights of the city. It was a beautiful and breathtaking way to end our long, but exciting, day.
