A Lazy Sunday in the Bavarian Alps

I woke up this rainy Sunday morning and checked my phone to see that the time was 9:45 AM, which unfortunately meant I had missed the 9:00 AM deadline for the delicious hotel breakfast. As I laid there sulking and starving, I was hit with debilitating cramps in my legs. After a weekend of exploring the Bavarian and Tyrol regions, including going to the Chiemsee Lake, hiking the Ötztal Valley to see the Stuibenfall waterfall, and walking around the city of Innsbruck, my legs were definitely not happy with me. I took the pouring rain outside and the pain in my legs as a sign to call off my plans for the day. The initial plan was to get up early and go to Eagle’s Nest to hike up to Adolf Hitler’s former home, and then go for a swim in the Königsee Lake. Instead, however, I decided to listen to my body and stay at the hotel. Thankfully I was in a beautiful area, and staying at the hotel was not a bad alternative. After hours of laying in bed, watching TV shows, and catching up on some work, it was time for me to get out of my room and get some fresh air. Although my legs didn’t want me to do any walking today, I decided that since the weather had finally cleared up, it was an ideal time to go for a short walk around Brannenburg. With views of the Bavarian Alps and beautiful pastures filled with farm animals in sight, the crippling pain in my legs was far from my mind. I feel lucky to be staying in such a serene place.
